Hi!,
Karol Waclaw Swierczewski was born in Warsaw, 22 February, 1897. Since his youngest he was raised in the red army. He was also part of comunist party of russian soviet. Soon he was amount to field officer...
Called "General Walter" in Spain, he comand the 35 division (international) of the spanish republican army.
General Walter was inmortalized from Hemingway's novel "For whom the bell tolls". He was the model for the character "General Golz".
In these work you can see pictures of general Walter accompanied by his staff officers performing some actions in Aragón front.
I made general Walter figure in two different miniatures. First I saw Walter in formal dress, with officer cap, high boots, Sam Browne belt etc.
Second, general Walter wearing undress clothes with his hair cut, shirtsleeves rolled up, acurate for the Aragón's hot summer...
As usual, the miniatures are conversions from hat productions. I made the staff cars with paper models. The bicyclists from the hat set WWII German bicyclists.
Saludo a todos.
Cheers

Many thanks to Mr. Juan Carlos Pascual.
