Hello,
Itīs nearly a year since Iīd sent the latest pictures for ETS, so here (and in the following mails) are some updates about my current work.
Attached to this mail, you'll find my Greek Army. Because there are no Greek Miniatures on the market, I'd used your early war French Infantry (8148) for the Bulk of the Infantry, the machineguns and the Officers. Also the Artillery is (and was) of French origin (I used your 8161, but with an Italian crew from your set 8259). The Wagons are German WWII, but Iīll use German WWI and WWII as I see fit for all my projects from and around the Great War.
The famous Evzone light Infantry in the centre started their lives as Russian Grenadiers from the age of Peter the Great, but with a few cuts on the cap it looks roughly like an Evzone Barett (thought long about shortening the Rifles, but the long Lebels of the French Infantry where nearly as long and I didnīt wanted to leave all these elite force without a bayonet). Many thanks to my hobby colleague Nikolaos from the Forum for his advice about the best conversion base for these miniatures. Cavalry is from another manufacturer.
This was my fifth Balkan War Army (after Ottoman, Serbian, Montenegrin and Bulgarian) and I will continue with my Romanian Army.
Greetings from Germany
Olli
Many thanks to Olli.
