Fighting at Plancenoit church intensifies as 1V Corps [ General Count Freidrich Wilhelm Bulow Von Dennewitz] is fully committed, along with 5th Infantry Brigade [ Major -General Count Von Tippelskirch] from 11 Corps [ Major-General Von Pirch 1]. The French V1 Corps [ Lobau] is in danger of being outflanked near Papelotte and is conducting a fighting withdrawal.
His Majesty now has elements from three Prussian Corps attacking his flank, and has to think the unthinkable.
Time is running out, Blucher has grasped the initiative and a resurgent Wellington would mean disaster.
Withdrawal and re-unite with Grouchy is the only option given that nightfall is approaching.
The 1st Grenadiers a Pied [ Marechal de Camp Baron J M Petit] are deploying to cover the withdrawal, and the order is given.
