Here are the photos of the first set of my own production of Exotics. The idea behind this project is to make exotic figures which I think no manufactor will ever do in 1/72. Small and often lesser known units to go with the standard troops and regiments of the plastic- and metalfigure manufactures. I don't want to make money with the figures, every cent earned will go in the production of new masters.
These are Sikh Akalis who fought in the first and second Sikh wars of 1845-49. When we did the Aliwal-diorama as subject for my annual dioramas last year we needed this special unit of Sikh religious warriors. The Akalis are a religious group who fought with the regular Sikh army against the British and were famous for their fighting-power as they didn't care about their own lives in their attacks. A special weapon of them were sharpened rings worn around their cap. They threw these rings against their enemies and these were very effective - like the guy in "Goldfinger" with his Zylinder:-)
