The poses!
It has taken me a while but I finished the Colonial Indian testshots over the last Christmas days so I thought I'd share some pictures with you folks!
Some ramblings...
These figures, upon arriving here, first seemed to be very unproportionate. They appeared to have very large heads. However after closer examination, this turned out to be a result of the large turbans they wear!
The faces are actually pretty nifty an look the part once painted. I do advise not to use a black basecoat since facial detail will be pretty much obscured for the painture, as I iscovere the hard way. Or if you insist in using a black basecoat anyway: drybrush the faces with some grey before the real painting starts to enhance sight of the face.
I decided to go with the uniforms displayed on the box art: these are testshots after all!
The blue and red bans included in the turban were the nicest part to paint, since they bring some colour to this very practical dress.
Scenic Shots
Okay that's these excellent troopers finished! I am thinking of using them in a skirmish game based on Legends of the High Seas but will have to create my own statistics for everyone involved so it will probably be a long-term-project.
Cheers Sander!
Many thanks to Mr. van Straeten.
As I know everybody likes scenic shots, I got out my new "sand-mat" (this was actually a terrain feature for one of those electric Christmas decoration villages from the DIY store) and some scenery I also used for my other Colonial shoots. The results are not that great, but oh well. Here they are!
