The Quest for la Haie Sainte
Dated: February 24, 2009.
I send you some very old photographs from la Haie Sainte, which helped me to reconstruct the farm as it would have looked in 1815. I know it has nothing to do with painting figures, but maybe they'll help others in building their 'Holy Hedge'.

This one is very old! Framtools in front of the later-built shed. Baring would have used them to barricade the barn entrance.
Quiot's 54th and 55th Ligne would be quite familiar with this scene! There were no trees in 1815 though.
The windows in the front facade. The cobbled roadway is the original chaussee. The building behind the person is the breadoven.
The windows were called 'diefijzers'- theft irons in English. The construction on the right hand side was not there in 1815.
