1/32 Bavarian Infantry (Marching)

These Bavarian Infantry were very enjoyable to paint and most striking and unusual subjects in 1/32nd scale plastic. I never expected to see such figures ever after 35 years of painting and collecting.
The Bavarian infantry had several changes over the Napoleonic period, but I have painted these x 6 figures based on the 8th Regiment from approx 1806 - 1814. The Bavarians fought alongside the French serving Napoleon, but changed sides late in the wars in 1813 and fought against the French at the battle of Hanau. The 8th had yellow facings with red piping and yellow metal buttons. The tall leather helmet was known as the Raupenhelm.
The other Regiments to choose from all wore the sky blue coatee with the following facing/piping colours 1806-1814:
1st - red (piped red)- white buttons
2nd - red (piped red) - yellow buttons
3rd - red (piped white) - yellow buttons
4th - sulphur yellow (piped red) - white buttons
5th - pink (piped red) - white buttons
6th - red (piped white) - white buttons
7th - white (piped red) - yellow buttons
9th - yellow (piped red with full red collar) - yellow buttons
10th - same as the 9th - but with white buttons
11th - green (piped red with full red collar) - yellow buttons
There were other regiments up to the 14th which were raised and disbanded a few times between 1803-1815
Have a crack at painting these great figures and you will be pleased with the end result - great for many dioramas and battlefields
