1/72 Gordon Highlander Firing line

Scottish Highlanders were excellent mountain troops, so it is no mystery why they fought so successfully against the Afghans. Their tactic of choice was to combine steady fire with a relentless advance forcing the enemy back, back, back until they broke and fled. Here with their favorite comrades-in-arms the Gurkahs leading the way, the Highlanders form a firing line to hold a piece of high ground as accurate jezail fire temporarily slows their attack.
The Captain is converted from a Piper, with the pistol arm from a Colonial Indian officer. He carries a Highland dirk in place of his broadsword showing he has some experience with the dirty business of fighting Afghans hand-to-hand. The dirk was made from the drone off of the figure's bagpipe.
