Colonial Indian Infantry

The Army of India was composed of many ethnic groups, each with an identifying headdress. These figures appear to be Punjabi Sikhs, so I have painted them as the Sikh infantry of the Corps of Guides. As famous for their appearances in popular fiction as they are for their Battle Honors, the Corps of Guides was a polyglot force which fought along the North West Frontier and in Afghanistan. As a matter of accuracy, the infantry did not wear the colorful full dress "lungi" with their khaki service dress, as shown here through artistic license. The service "lungi" was of the same drab color as the "kurta" which would have been a bore to paint, in my opinion.
This is a first rate set of figures. I have a feeling I will not be content with a test spue, or even just one box. Very good work, I can't wait for your next batch of Victorians.
