HaT Team,
Attached are images of your new Colonial Highlanders. These men were the Foreign Service pattern doublet, which lack the turned-back cuffs and other ornate details of the Home Service pattern. Their sporrans, with two tassels, make them suitable for almost all Highland regiments except the Black Watch whose sporrans had six tassels. These men are painted as the Gordons, who saw much action with the Army of India and in Egypt.
The officers has been converted from an Esci Zulu War figure, with legs from the same company's British 8th Army; his kilt, sporran, and basket-hilt are made from milliput. It was a much easier conversion than I had expected it to be, but I would have rather the kit came with an officer all the same.
This is very possibly one of my favorite kits HaT has released to date. Keep up the great work!
Cheers,
S. M. Mannix
