The DVD movie "Modellwelten II“ shows the painting of a 1/72 miniature. For the film shots we were able to win over Thomas Willers, a real expert, who is well known by collectors, e.g. on the HäT Homepage. The DVD shows his working method down to the last detail. It begins with the scraping off the seams and the priming. One mainly sees every step of the painting process of a French Dragoon in smooth and clear pictures, more or less in real-time. A sparsely inserted commentary leads through the film. The actual information is imparted by the pictures of the film though.
By using a special camera the miniatures appear to be life size. The viewer sees pictures of 1/72 miniatures which would not be possible even with the help of a magnifying glass. This way one can observe the different techniques which Thomas Willers applies while painting very well. The film is set in a very calm mood and sets great store on meticulousness. And so especially beginners gain a good impression of how one can achieve great results with a rather simple technique.
