Here are some pictures of my Carthaginian allies.
As Carthage was a city with a comparatively small population especially compared to its largest rival in the Mediterranean world, the Roman Republic, it depended on mercenaries and allies to provide for extra troops in wartime. This allied army consists of war parties from different countries around the Mediterranean Sea. Light infantry like the javelin men from Carthage's neighbour Numidia, Celtiberian tribesmen from Spain, Lusitanians, skilled fighters in mountainous terrain and the fierce and naked Gaisatai from Eastern Galatia in modern Turkey.
Kind regards,
I. Koopmans (The Netherlands)
