The Cauldron
A WW2 Participation wargame from the Mailed Fist
During the Second World War, the term “The Cauldron” was used to describe intense periods of fighting where armies came together in battle.
Our version is aimed at gamers new to wargaming and in particular to Second World War gaming. To keep things simple, we're only using tanks with a minimum of scenery, the aim being to introduce the gamer to the concept of “fire & manoeuvre” - you need to be aware of the advantages that your tank has as well as potential enemies to your flank and rear, as well as those in front of you!
We're also trying to show that wargaming doesn't have to be expensive… a green cloth for the terrain with a few hills ('though these could just as easily be books underneath) and making full use of the Armourfast series of quick-build tanks from HäT Industrie (two kits in a box).

Sherman M4A2s wandering aimlessly through the countryside out to enjoy the sun
More aimless wandering… this time in the company of Fireflies… I wonder why?
… now we know why!!
Game One… the M4A2 burns just as well as earlier models! Fortunately, they occasionally get the better of the Stugs & Panzer IIIs.
Dad won the prize, but son converted from Warhammer!!
Many thanks to Mr. Foster
