These are some pics taken last winter of our DBMM wargame of Alexander the Great besieging the city of Gaza, defended by the Persian gouvernor Batis and his Arab mercenaries.
Models are painted by Mr. Bos and Mr. Cryns. Fortifications (originally Roman) are build in 1987 using non-heated clay: a kind of air dried mud-brick. A bad choice since they will allways stay fragile and because of their heavy weight they get damaged when transported all the time. Last year I coated all these walls with acrylic paste to protect the clay. I had to paint them all over again.
Houses (built in 1986) are constructed in paperboard and railway model paste which turned out to be much stronger and less heavy in weight.
Kindest regards,
Mr. Cryns from the Netherlands
Many thanks to Mr. Cryns.
