Hi!
I took a set of Prussian Dragoons 1806 (Hat 8196) and painted them as the:
1st regiment of Dutch Carabiners. At Waterloo part of the Dutch-Belgian heavy cavalry brigade.
These Prussians are perfect for this. The only thing what shouldn't be there are the pistol holsters on the horses, the Dutch-Belgian cavalry was not issued with these. Facing colour for this regiment is rose-red. If you want to paint the 3rd Dutch regiment, you need to use yellow facings. If you want to paint the 2nd regiment you need to use Hat set 8012 (Russian Dragoons) and add plumes to their helmets. This 2nd (Belgian) regiment wears helmets.
I've added blanket rolls, because these were frequently used by the Dutch-Belgian cavalry. I also added a black & white trumpet cord.
During the Waterloo campaign there was also a detachment of Marechaussee (Military Police) of 61 men and horse. These have dark blue coats with light blue facings (difficult to see on picture).
The pictures speak for themselves. More about the Dutch-Belgian army can be found on my website:
Greetings,
Dutch Carabiniers
