Hi:
The battle between Varus and Arminius is located at Kalkriese (northern edge of the Teutoburg Forest). The archaeological excavations of the area are still going on, two decades after its discovery by the British major Tony Clunn. It is a funny coincidence that the battle itself took place exactly 2000 years ago, while the systematic excavations started exactly 20 years ago, in September 1989.
A section of the rampart that was built by Arminius' men has been reconstructed. In the museum there are a number of original finds, together with further reconstructions. Varus' complete army of three legions is shown, and it's quite impressive, although it's not HäT figures, not plastic figures at all and apparently not even 1/72 (looks like a smaller scale such as 1/87 or 1/76).
Best regards
