Hi,
These photos show a model of Roman ship I made in summer 2006. The combat crew are positioned in order to attack an ipotetic ship aproaching by the right side, while the ship crew is manouvering. All the models and the ship are black undercoated and painted with acrilic. The ship is a B.U.M. model, the combat crew is made by a mix of HAT Roman extra heavy legionaries and HAT Roman legionaries with the plumes removed from all the helmets except one to represent an "optio" (a sort of sargeant) and one HAT auxiliary legionary. The archers are a mix of HAT imperal Roman auxiliaries and old Esci (actual Italeri I think) Roman legion. The ship crew and oarmen are made of a mix of Orion Roman sailors, some converions of them, and a couple of old Atlantic ancient Greeks. I have in program to put the model on a transparent base of polyester resin to show the ship at sea, I don't feel skillful enough yet, I must learn how to make the waves and the oars prints well before to risk to wreck the model, any suggestion is very welcome.
Thank you very much and congratulations for your website that is excellent.
