Hi!
Attached are some photos I thought you might appreciate.. I have started work on a Great War Spearhead division of 1914 Russian infantry using your 1914 Russian infantry, and Russian support weapons.
The colour schemes might interest some of your viewers. They range from a very green tinged khaki, to a more conventional brown khaki to.. perhaps more interestingly, variations on the Russo Japanese War uniforms. The variations in khaki recognise the enormous difficulties that Russia had in standardising dye production.
In addition, in the early days of conscription so many conscripts came into depots that there was a shortage of uniforms. Therefore Russo Japanese War stock was pulled from Q stores to clothe troops. These troops have the typical RJW green trousers, with variations on the cream/brown tunic (often created originally as a result of various attempts to dye white tunics to provide some form of concealment.)
The large group photo shows a Great War Spearhead regiment completed. Hope these are of interest.
Cheers
