Enclosed some pictures.... The French Army´s Train des Éqipages Militaires was militarized during 1807-08. Its 18th Battalion was assigned to the Medical Service in 1812. To the Heavy Ambulance set I added two other soldiers. This are initially French Chasseurs a Cheval. This captain commands a battalion. Because of chronic shortage ot remounts, train officers and their mounted sergeants and trumpeters were supposed to make do with horses too small for even light cavalry use. Officers may have done so - at least until they could purchase a captured animal. The Trumpeter as the battailon´s trumpet major wears a nonregulation fur colback. His reversed colors uniform was only one of an amazing variety attributed to the Équipages militaires.
