Hi there,
Here is a Wolverine, Cromwell and Firefly in Polish division markings.
Regards,
J. Spencer
France
The Wolverine uses etchings for the turret top (left over from another kit). All three vehicles have been detailed with resin and scatchbuilt parts. I toyed with the idea of doing general Maczek's Cromwell at first but I could not determine the gun. Some sources say he had a command version, but photos of it look nothing like a commend version. The gun is too long for a 95mm, wrong muzzle for a 75mm, and does not quite look like the typical 6pdr counter weight (although I suspect a 6pdr, in which case it must be the only such armed Cromwell to see action). The Pols' might have simply done a good art of work with a dummy gun... who knows? In the end, I decided to model one from a 'heavy recon unit' (Green 45 badge).
Pictures of Cromwells in the field, tend to show uncluttered tanks (compared with Shermans and M10s at least), the rear deck being virtually clear of clutter with everything on the mud guards. This I have reflected.
The Firefly makes the final Polish addition.
Next are the French and US which can be seen under construction in the background.
Many thanks to Mr. Spencer.
