Here my first Napoleonics. I call it "A Study in Black and White", and If you like them, you can offer them on your Site.
Mr. Roland Kupski (Germany.)
Brunswick-Leib-Battalion, as they fought in Spain and Waterloo. The Brunswickers fought sometimes directly against the Westphalians (1809, but in the old uniform; and 1812 in Spain): Black and White. But a lot of Westphalians are former Brunswickers..tragedy of War.
Westphalian Infantry, 3. Regiment, 2. Battalion, Grenadiers, Voltigeurs and Fusiliers.
This battalion served in Russia under the command of Chef de Battalion von Lossberg, who wrote a very interesting diary. They were involved as a part of the 8. Korps (Junot), 24th Division (von Ochs) in the Battle of Borodino and had very heavy losses during the retreat. They were wearing the 1810 Uniform. It was the so called "Bardin-Uniform" with habit-veste and short tails, which was introduced in the French army after 1812, the "Waterloo" Uniform. The Uniform of the Westphalians changed a little in 1811, but the third Regiment used the old Uniform in Russia.
Many thanks to Mr. Kupski.
