Azad Hind conversion

This is the WWII German Army figure surrendering by Airfix / HaT. I cut off the arms and head and added a head from the Indian Army from Atlantic, German Motorcycle left arm by Armourfast, right arm and bayonet with entrenching tool by Pegasus.
I use a short piece of guitar string, it is a very strong stiff wire .009 thickness. The wire is inserted into the harder piece of plastic first using a set of tweezers or pliers. I use Loctite SuperGlue Activator and paint both the surfaces to be joined with that product. Then I put a bit of Bob Smith Industries Insta-Cure, Odorless, Gap filling CA glue, it dries in 10 to 25 seconds, on the wire and the part with the wire in it. The soft part is then pressed against the part with the wire. Ideally the body is harder but not always. After while, an hour or so, I then trim the join or add more gap filling superglue. Most parts will stay with either just the wire or just the glue, but the wire helps make the join stronger and the glue keeps the part from rotating on the pin. Once in a great wile I use two pins if the part is large, like an entire torso.
