The Alamo

Hi, Here are couple of pictures from a diorama of the Alamo I made, I hope you will add them to you page. There are several Hat conversions in these pictures, for example I took Hat's french Grenadiers and turned them in to Mexican mounted sappers, who historically formed the cavalry contingent of Santa Anna's Body guard. In the pictures with them, you can see Santa Anna (historically uniformed) riding a white horse. I also took Hat's Napoleonic French Lancers, and with the magic of paint converted them in to Mexican Lancers (uniforms reminiscent of those off the John Wayne Alamo film). Next I took Hat's Bulgarian artillery (who were perfect for the job) and panted them in to historic Mexican artillery.

Most of the Mexican Infantry uniform seen in this diorama are taken of the John Wayne film, with the sole exception of the Infantry in the Navy blue, they were from the recent Touchstone film "The Alamo"

I love to do this time period, for the Mexican army allows much of the color an pizzaz of the Napoleonic period, while the Texans allow for the rustic feel of the old west.

This time period also allow you to add Indians, Texas Rangers, American Outlaws and Mexican bandits in to the equation.
