Dated: July 19, 2003.
From Peter Styk of Slovakia.
"Here is squadron of the 3rd regiment of Scout Lancers of the Guard. This regiment was created in 1813 (Napoleon had in mind to create an opposite to the Russian cossacks) and was organised in 4 squadrons of 250 troops. In 1814 the regiment was disbanded and the men reintegrated in line. My squadron belongs to the Young Guard. Soldiers are Esci lancers, horses are from English cavalry. Only officers horse belongs to the Esci lancers set. Missing bridle and gray coats I make from cigarette paper. With Best Regards from Slovakia Peter Styk."
Many thanks to Mr. Styk.
