From Patrick Storto, USA:
"Here is a restored copy of the AIRFIX Waterloo war game. Most pieces needed repair, and I have repainted them all. The figures are hard plastic based on the Airfix British Infantry, Hussars, and Royal Horse Artillery. The French units are based on the Guard and Line Infantry, the Currasiers, and the Foot Artillery. This means that many British units have blue uniforms. So the two armies were further distinguished by different ground color of the bases (green = British, sand = French). I added some variety to the Anglo-Allied side by painting some infantry in the colors of Brunswick, Nassau, KGL, Belgian-Dutch, and Hannover colors, even though the uniform patterns were incorrect. I hope to put together a more accurate set of playing pieces using a variety of figures from Airfix, Hat, Revell, Esci, Italeri, etc., once I find suitable material for the bases"
This first photo shows the game setup with a view from the French lines; Plancenoit is at the far right. Hougoumont is visible on the playmat in the center left.
This shows the view from the British side. Mt. St. Jean is visible in the near center right.
This picture is a closeup of the Britsh/Allied units near Hougoumont. A detachment of Guards and Nassauers is visible. Ompteda's unit (painted as KGL light infantry) is occupying La Haye Sainte.
Many thanks to Mr. Storto.
