A contribution from David Ducouret of France:
"This is my new scene, showing a part of a French ship's deck during battle (I've decided it was Aboukir, but it could also have been Trafalgar, argh, why does a Frenchman have to make figures showing the retreat from Russia or French naval defeats?). The men in red uniform are not English but French, of the nautical legion. When I first saw this uniform I thought there had been a mistake, they had to be English, but it was not so.
For this scene I used figures from Italeri, Hat (the sailor, 3rd figure from the left), and Esci, all being more or less transformed. the ship's hull is in wood, and the water is painted milliput.
I know I should have made an entire ship, but at the 1/72 scale it would have been too big for me. I hope you like it.
David Ducouret.
Many thanks to Mr. David Ducouret.
