Mr. Eric Williamson has kindly put together this page detailing step by step how he has swapped heads converting Dutch infantry to Belgian Infantry and Netherlands Militia troops for Waterloo. Many thanks to Mr. Williamson.
Here are the tools I use for changing heads on plastic figures
|
Figures and heads before conversion | Old heads removed at the collar with the hobby knife. Save the old heads! They may come in handy for another conversion. |

Use pin vise to drill hole into collar stub and head. Cut steel pin with pliers. You want a length of only a few mm. (Discard the point of the pin. You want to use just the straight shaft section of the pin.) | Use the pliers to insert steel pin section into the head. |
Join head to body and position as desired | With these figures I positioned the heads so that they were looking slightly to the right or left to give a more natural look. This figure has also had his Flanquer Rolls removed. |
Use CNA Gap Filling glue and applicator around the new joint. The gap filling qualities of this glue will cover up any any unevenness. | Spray Primer |
And Paint! |
